Ribs, thank you, thank you, thank you for taking us all on your trip with you. It's unfortunate that the Dali Lama had to speak in (Lamaese??? Chinese??? Tibentan???) because he speaks beautiful English, or at least it appeared that he did in his interview on the Today Show last week. Matt Lauer reported from the Forbidden City today, amazingly beautiful! Can't wait to hear about the Taj Mahal. Be careful this weekend, and have a safe trip home. love, mom
Rob, Hi, it’s Rob Kasprzak, I used to work with your Mom at The Community Partnership. I have been following your blog for a few days and I have to say you are an adventurous and blessed person. You are in the right place at the right time. It is not a coincidence that you saw the Dalai Lama. I don’t know if your Mom told you, but I have been a practicing Tibetan Buddhist for about 15 years and I have been following his path for most of that time. I have several of his books and I have seen him three times and I absolutely love his teachings. Although, they are kinda the same and kinda simple, it will probably take the rest of my life (and my next dozen or so) to truly understand them. I saw him in Ann Arbor last April and I was one of about 8,000 so I didn’t make eye contact with him, but I was very happy to read that you were in his presence and you were able to listen to one of his speeches. I will celebrate vicariously through you. So, now do you understand the meaning of life? Will you have complete and total consciousness on your deathbed? (No, that is not a Rob K. original question; it is a direct quote from the movie Caddy Shack). Anyway, would you be willing to make a purchase for a brother? I was hoping you could score some high-end incense or maybe a mala? How long will you be there? Let me know, Rob rkaspr@yahoo.com
Hey Girl! I've been enjoying your posts from Asia. I'm so jealous of you and Tasche. Can't wait to see more photos when you return. I love the one of the monkey peaking out through the foliage. Enjoy the rest of your adventure! Kyra
